PEABODY – The North Shore Bank and its branches are sponsoring collections of new, unwrapped holiday gifts to benefit families in three local shelters.The collections, which go through Tuesday, Dec. 16, will go toward the Inn Between and Inn Transition Shelters in Peabody, operated by Citizens for Adequate Housing, and Bridge House in Lynn, operated by the Lynn Shelter Association.In addition, North Shore Bank’s Saugus branches will also be collecting toys as part of the annual Saugus Firefighters Toy Drive.”We’re proud of our employees and customers for taking the initiative to help those families in our community who are facing challenges in their everyday lives, especially during this time of the year,” said Kevin Tierney, North Shore Bank’s president. “This is what being part of a community is all about … helping our neighbors in difficult times.”What we receive in return is the satisfaction of knowing that we made a difference in someone’s life.”The bank is encouraging anyone to donate to its holiday gift drive. Families are supported as they work to end their homelessness.The Inn Transition shelter provides a sober-living transitional housing program supporting families as they continue to build on their sobriety, recovery and find permanent housing.BridgeHouse Family Shelter is a Lynn-based non-profit operated by the Lynn Shelter Association.
