She is the kind of woman we can all admire. A savior, really. She took her young godson into her own home to rescue him from a horrible home. His mother was on drugs. His father was gone. The little boy, who has autism, was abused and neglected. There was no way she could leave him in that environment. Her godson now lives with her and he’s doing much better. Actually, she wrote in her letter to Item Santa, he is doing great. But, she lives paycheck to paycheck. She struggles to afford the basics. There is little left over for anything more.”I cannot afford to give him the Christmas he deserves,” she wrote. “Any help would be appreciated. He needs clothes, mittens, hat, etc. A toy would be great.”A toy – or more – would be great for this little boy who has already endured so much. But, it’s up to us.Now in its 48th year, the Item Santa fund endeavors to make Christmas a little brighter for those among us who are less fortunate.
