The North Shore Navigators are making sure that the 75-year anniversary of local landmark Fraser Field is celebrated in style this coming summer.
Navigators general manager Bill Terlecky has announced that his ballclub will be hosting the 2015 Futures Collegiate Baseball League (FCBL) All-Star Game.
A date has yet to be set for the annual event, which drew nearly 2,800 spectators last year at Campanelli Stadium, home of the Brockton Rox.
?The Navigators are proud to represent Lynn and the North Shore,” said Terlecky.
?We are ready to invite the rest of the league, major league scouts, and star collegiate players from around the country to town for the marquee event of the Futures League season. It is always an honor to be able to showcase our city and show them everything Lynn has to offer by hosting your colleagues in your ballpark for a night of baseball and fun.”
Along with the game, fans will be treated to the comedy of the national touring act known as “The Zooperstars,” which have made over 1,000 appearances at various sporting events including Major League baseball games at Wrigley Field in Chicago.
?We?re looking forward to bringing our summer showcase to the great city of Lynn,” said FCBL Commissioner Chris Hall. “Pat Salvi and Bill Terlecky will put on a first-class event, not just for the league but also for the City of Lynn. They will make us proud as they have since first joining the league.”
State Representative Brendan Crighton offered words of growing excitement as well.?This is another example of the Navigators? positive impact on our city,” said Crighton. “It is an honor for Lynn to be hosting this great event and we are excited to show off the many improvements we?ve made to Fraser Field over the past few years.”
