Roundup: Winthrop/Lynn/Saugus girls hockey bests Masco

The co-op girls? hockey team from Lynn/Winthrop/Saugus beat Masconomet, 4-3, Tuesday at Larsen Arena to improve to 2-0.
The Bulldawgs broke a 2-2 tie on third-period goals from Caroline McKinnon and Flora English and then survived a last-minute charge by Masco to grab a 4-3 win.
Caroline O?Keefe had a goal and two assists with McKinnon adding a goal and an assist. Kasey Howard also had a goal while Gretchen Howard had 16 stops in net.

At the Reggie Lewis Center in West Roxbury, the Spartans (1-1) didn?t win any events but had second-place finishes from Tony Mwangi in the mile (5:12), Matt McManus, 600-meter race (1:37.43), Mollie Mello, 300 meters (49.84), Paige Fielding, high jump (4 feet, 1 inch, Tia Foglietta, two-mile race (12:27.15), Abraham Toe, 55-meter dash (7.18) and Shane O?Neill, 55-meter hurdles (10.0).

Marblehead 98, Salem 81The Magicians (1-0) had a double winner in Allie Ronan as she took the 100-meter backstroke (1:03.25) and 200-meter freestyle races (2:03.68). Katie Walker set a new school record in diving with 255.0 points while Meagan Hathaway won the 200-meter individual medley (2:19.56) and Tom Gabel took the 100-meter breaststroke (1:12.44).
