School: Tech swimming falls

Matt Fraser

December 18, 2014 by Matt Fraser

It’s not a question of if the wins will come for the Lynn Tech swimming team, but when.
On Wednesday evening, a young Tigers team took to the pool for the first time this season, and despite a 97-68 loss to Greater Lawrence, coach Brad Tilley was pleased with what he saw.
?For a team made up of just four seniors among an entire cast of younger swimmers, I thought we performed admirably,” Tilly said. “Tonight left me with a whole lot of optimism going forward and for the future of the program as well.”
Nick Weston was a double winner in the 200-yard and 500-yard freestyle races, with respective times of 2:21.9 and 6:40.12. Jacob Kennedy added a victory in the 100-yard freestyle (1:08.38).
The Tigers 200-yard freestyle relay team also claimed a victory with Jaleem Ailicea, Juan Bernabe, Osmar Deleon and Renaldo Mertchil combining for a time of 2:18.10.
Tech is back in action on Friday, on the road at Shawsheen.
