Track: Tanners sweep against English

It was a good day to be wearing blue and white as the Peabody boys? and girls? track teams both rolled to easy victories over Lynn English on Tuesday at Veterans Memorial Field House in Peabody.
The Tanner boys won all but two events as they cruised to a 64-17 win, while the girls were just as dominant in taking a 72-14 win.
Peabody?s (4-0, 3-0 Northeastern Conference/North) win in the boys? meet was propelled by sweeps in the shot put, the 45-yard dash, mile and two-mile races. Taking wins for the Tanners were Anthony Christo in the shot put with a distance of 46 feet, 6 ? inches, Christian Cedullo in the 45-yard hurdles with a time of 6.1 seconds, Phil Bynum (45-yard dash, 5.5), Mike Petrosino (300 meters, 40.8), Eric Sanford (600 meters, 1:33.4), Ryan Buckley (mile, 5:39.0) and Justin Sudenfeld (two miles, 12:23.0).
English?s (0-2) wins came from C.J. Hernandez in the high jump with a leap of 6 feet and James Cabral in the 1000-meter race (3:00.6).
In the girls? meet, the Tanners (3-1, 3-0 NEC/North) also won every event but two, sweeping five events. First places for Peabody went to Anna Church (shot put, 30-6), Sabrina D?Angelo (45-yard hurdles, 7.5), Macayla Lachance (300 meters, 46.4), Cynthia Aroke (600 meters, 1:48.5), Valerie Folan (1000 meters, 3:44.8), Ashley Ferragamo (mile, 6:10.6) and Julia Merchant (two miles, 14:15.8).
English (0-2) had wins from Diana Cherry in the high jump (4-4) and Brianna Maynard in the 45-yard dash (6.2). English also got a second-place finish in the 45-yard dash from Faith Agbonsalo (6.3).
BOYS? AND GIRLS? TRACK
Arlington Catholic 89, St. Mary?s 61
The Spartans (1-2) had five first-place finishers but it wasn?t enough to get past the Cougars in a Tri-County League meet at the Reggie Lewis Center in Roxbury.
Taking wins for St. Mary?s were Mollie Mello in the 55-meter dash (8.45), Abraham Toe (55-meter dash, 7.13), Tia Foglietta (mile, 5:32.59), Anthony Mwangi (two miles, 11:20.56) and Shane O?Neill (55-meter hurdles, 9.92).
GIRLS? TRACK
Marblehead 67, Danvers 19
The NEC/South co-leaders cruised to an easy victory to move to 3-0 and 2-0 in the league. The Magicians used their depth to overwhelm the 1-2 Falcons as they swept the shot put and 600 meters while taking first- and second-place finishes in three other events.
Winning for Marblehead was Faith Ferucci in the shot put (31-0), Carlyn McGrath (55-meter hurdles, 8.9), Clara Pollard (300 meters, 51.9), Kat Huber (600 meters, 1:49.9), Sloane Matthews (1000 meters, 3:38.2), Ilse Schaeffner (mile, 5:58.9) and Anna Barrell (two miles, 12:42.5).
Beverly 75, Salem 15
It was a dominating performance from the start for the Panthers (3-0, 2-0 NEC/North) as they swept six events and had seven wins in all. Taking firsts were Natalie Coughlin (high jump, 4-10), Julianna Devitt (50-yard hurdles, 7.4), Amanda Rosenberger (300 meters, 47.8), Maeve Dineen (600 meters, 1:53.9), Abby Walsh (1000 meters, 3:10.9), Julia Curtin (mile, 5:19.3) and Lexi Sityak (two miles, 12:13.0).
BOYS? TRACK
Marblehead 63, Danvers 23
The Magicians (3-0, 2-0 NEC/South) kept pace with division leader Gloucester as they won all but the 55-meter hurdles against the 1-2 Falcons.
Taking wins for Marblehead were Mitch Norcross (high jump, 6-1), Dan Marino (shot put, 45-5), Jaason Lopez (55-meter dash,6.6), Jakob Wikar (300 meters, 41.0), Oliver Jacob (600 meters, 1:35.6), Pete Morrison (1000 meters, 2:55.9), A.J. Ernst (mile, 4:54.6) and Mike Weidenbruch (two miles, 10:51.4).
Beverly 61, Salem 16
The Panthers (1-2, 1-1 NEC/North) cruised to an easy win as they took first place in everything but the 50-yard hurdles and 300-meter race. Beverly had a double winner in Matt Madden, who took the shot put (45-6) and 50-yard dash (5.6).
Also winning for Beverly was Kai Marcos in the 600 meters (1:35.0), Bryan Flaherty (1000 meters, 2:47.8), Brian McPherson (mile, 5:09.7) and Zach Bauer (two miles, 11:20.4).Salem?s (0-4, 0-3) wins came from Taron Wigfall (300 mete
