Police looking for suspect in Eastern Bank robbery

LYNN – Police are asking the public for help identifying the suspect who robbed Eastern Bank the afternoon of Dec. 15.The suspect is described as a black male with a large build, approximately 35 years old, and measuring 6 foot 2 or 3 inches tall. The suspect was wearing a dark baseball cap, sunglasses, blue jeans, white sneakers with orange and blue accent markings, and a heavy dark leather coat with black fur around the cuffs.Police said the suspect entered the Eastern Bank at 112 Market St. at approximately 1:50 p.m. Monday, Dec. 15. The suspect handed the teller a note demanding money and threatening that he had a gun and would shoot if his request for money was denied. The suspect was given the money and fled from the bank using the entrance/exit on Oxford Street.Police said nobody was injured in the robbery.Police urged that anyone with information on the event contact officers at 781-595-2000. Cell phone users may also text an anonymous tip to the Lynn Police Department by texting the word tiplynn and the tip information to tip411 or 847411.
