A Haverhill woman was killed while walking on Route 1 in Peabody early Tuesday morning.State Police responded at 12:18 a.m. Tuesday to the area of Route 1 North in front of Red’s Tavern. A preliminary investigation suggests that a 2012 Honda CRV was traveling northbound when it hit a 33-year-old woman who was walking in the left travel lane of the roadway, according to a State Police press release.The woman was taken to Lahey Medical Center in Peabody where she was subsequently pronounced dead. The driver of the CRV, a 51-year-old man from Ipswich, was uninjured. No charges have been filed in the incident, which remains under investigation.
