Barbershop quart?ets from the Beverly Northshoremen Chorus will once again make Valentine’s Day very spe?cial for sweethearts throughout Essex Coun?ty, when they arrive un?announced at offices, homes, schools and other venues to present a singing valentine to unsuspecting recipients from the ones who love them.In addition to singing two love songs, the quartets will also present the recipients of the singing valentines with a long-stemmed rose, a lovely card and a photo of the event.”This is one of our favorite events for of the year,” said Charlie Coogan, who along with his wife, Marsha, is in charge of logistics and scheduling for the event.”There are a lot of tears and smiles and laughter when the recipient is surprised with this unique gift from their sweetheart. It’s very heartwarming to see.”Because Valentine’s Day falls on a Saturday this year, there will be two chances to send this special gift to the one you love. Quartets will sing on Friday, Feb. 13 from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and on Saturday, Feb. 14 from noon to 4 p.m.For further information about giving your sweetheart the gift of a singing valentine, please contact Coogan at 978-774-7177 or 866-727-4988. You may also email your order at [email protected] singing valentines represent one of the major fundraisers for the non-profit Northshoremen, who put on shows at area assisted living facilities and nursing homes throughout the year, perform to benefit critically important organizations such as Beverly Bootstraps and Care Dimensions, and appear at concerts and a cappella nights at no charge to help local high schools fund their music programs.
