The restaurant, named after Red Sox legend Tony Conigliaro, has two locations, at Assembly Row in Somerville and 3rd Avenue in Burlington. While there, Lynch talked sports with, from left, Billy Conigliaro, Tony’s brother; Darlene Conigliaro, wife of Tony’s brother, Richie; Billy Conigliaro II and Tony Conigliaro II, sons of Richie and Conigliaro; and Bonnie Fleischer, general manager.Billy played high school baseball at Swampscott High and for the Red Sox from 1969-71. He was on the World Series champion Oakland A’s in 1973. Tony Conigliaro starred at St. Mary’s in Lynn and played seven seasons for the Red Sox over an 11-year period, 1964-75. He also played one season with the California Angels (1971). The youngest American League player ever to hit 100 home runs, his career was curtailed after he was hit in the face with a pitch in 1967. He died in 1990 of complications from a stroke he suffered in 1982.Swampscott’s Webster interning for KennedyBrooke Webster, a Swampscott native and Suffolk University senior, started working as an intern in Lynn Mayor Judith Flanagan Kennedy’s office this week. Webster said the internship will show her how a major municipal office functions. She is wrapping up her legal studies courses and plans to pursue a law degree. She will complete the internship in May.”I find what goes on in government very interesting,” she said.Webster’s father, Kent, lives in Swampscott and her mother, Linda, is an Ipswich resident.Calling all elementary EinsteinsA science club oriented to elementary school students holds its first meeting on Monday at 3 p.m. in the Swampscott Public Library. Swampscott High School science teacher Amy Camire is running the program for students in first, second and third grade. She plans to combine science, technology, engineering and mathematics activities with snacks. The club will meet on the second and fourth Monday of every month. Nineteen children have signed up for the club and participants are urged to pre-register at the library.
