The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner identified the human remains found on King’s Beach in Swampscott on Wednesday as belonging to a missing Swampscott woman. Jaimee Mendez, 25, of Swampscott, was last seen on November 6, 2014.On Wednesday, January 28, a resident reported finding human remains on King’s Beach in Swampscott at approximately 8:00 a.m. Massachusetts State Police detectives assigned to the Essex District Attorney’s Office, MSP Crime Scene Services and Swampscott Police responded to the beach. The remains, which were found near two lobster pots, were transported to the OCME in Boston. Investigators brought Jaimee Mendez’s dental records to the OCME yesterday. The identification was made through dental records earlier this afternoon.”We are relieved for Jaimee’s family that she has been located and identified. We will continue to work diligently to determine the circumstances of her death. Our thoughts are with the Mendez family during this difficult time,” Essex District Attorney Jonathan Blodgett.The Essex District Attorney’s Office, the Massachusetts State Police Detective Unit assigned to the DA’s Office, Swampscott, Salem and Lynn Police have been conducting searches throughout the area in an effort to locate Ms. Mendez. Massachusetts State Police Dive Team, K-9 Units and AirWing, and NEMLEC have also assisted in various searches.
