Classical football hands out awards

The Lynn Classical football team held its annual awards banquet Thursday at Prince Pizzeria in Saugus. Several members of the Rams? varsity, junior varsity and freshman squads were recognized for their efforts both on and off the field in 2014.
The Item?s Defensive Player of the Year, Devin Crayton, was named the recipient of the Harry Agganis Award for his play from both the linebacker and running back positions.
The Rams? scholar-athlete awards went to Dublin as the senior, junior Kosal Noum, sophomore Matt Lauria and freshman Alvin Chhim.
Other varsity players receiving awards included Trey Burris (Gerald LeBrasseur Ironman Award), Micah Dublin (Boley Dancewicz All-American Award), Johnson Builou (Abel Marquez Leadership Award), Renzo Pappaterra (Harold Durgin Memorial Award), Larsen Jacinthe (Bill Joyce Sportsmanship Award), Eri Pleitez (Bob Melanson Unsung Hero Award) and Edwin Romero (Scout Team Player of the Year Award).
Junior Varsity awards went to James Eldred (Offensive Player of the Year), Adalberto Sarita (Defensive Player of the Year) and Daniel Rose (Lineman of the Year).For the freshmen, Ismael Johnson garnered Offensive Player of the Year honors while Ricky Keo (Defensive) and Javien Delgado (Lineman) were honored as well
