Comedian Jimmy Tingle to perform at LaPierre campaign kickoffThe LaPierre Committee will host a campaign kickoff Sunday, March 1 at the AOH Hibernian Hall, 105 Federal St., Lynn, at 3 p.m., with special guests, including comedian Jimmy Tingle, who will perform his comedy tour show “Humor for Humanity.””We are ecstatic to bring Jimmy Tingle to Lynn to perform, and the fact that he is coming as my political guest and friend means so much to me,” said Brian LaPierre, who is running for councilor at large in the fall election.Steve Kerrigan, the 2014 Democratic nominee for lieutenant governor, is scheduled to stop by. He said he always loves coming back and reconnecting with Lynn supporters.”Lynn was always one of my favorite stops along the campaign trail,” Kerrigan said.Massachusetts AFL-CIO president Steve Tolman is also planning to visit.”Brian LaPierre is a vital component of our labor movement, we encourage our members to seek public office and we are excited that Brian has decided to do just that,” Tolman said.Tingle said he is looking forward to the event.”I am excited to come back to Lynn to perform,” Tingle said. “Lynners are great.”Others expected to attend are state Treasurer Deb Goldberg and state Sen. Joan Lovely, along with Lynn officials.Tickets are available in advance or at the door.
