SAUGUS – Police said nobody was seriously injured in a five-car pileup Sunday afternoon that temporarily shut down Route 107.Revere and Saugus Police responded to Route 107 southbound at 2:20 p.m. Sunday on the report of a motor vehicle accident involving multiple vehicles.Revere Police Lt. Amy O’Hara said that white-out conditions from blowing snow prompted the accident and were so bad that they prompted the brief closure of the road.Saugus Police reported three individuals were taken to the hospital with injuries. Two people went to Melrose-Wakefield and one person was taken to Massachusetts General Hospital. A sander and plow were sent to the scene after the ambulances departed.O’Hara said that Monday that she was aware of no reports of serious injuries from the accident, however.
