Danvers continued its strong season, beating Malden Catholic, 79-59, in the Comcast Tournament Wednesday. Danvers is now 19-0 on the season and playing some great basketball lately.
?We shot the ball great in the first half,” Danvers coach John Walsh said afterwards. “We hit nine three-pointers in the first half and that really helped us extend the lead.”
Devon Allen was a true leader for the Falcons and took home tournament MVP honors after a 10-point outing in the final. Devan Harris added 18 points while Peter Merry had a team-high 19 points.

Danvers visits Lynn English tonight at 6 p.m. in a battle of the Northeastern Conference’s divisional champions.
BOYS
St. John?s Prep 59, North Andover 43
The Eagles improve to 16-4 after easily handling a tough North Andover team in the final of the
Larry McIntire IAABO Board 130 Classic, at St. John?s Prep?s Memorial Gym Tuesday. St. John?s was able to handle North Andover?s physical defensive play behind Kareem Davis, who took home the tournament?s MVP award.
?We seem to be playing our best basketball right now,” Eagles? coach John Dullea said.
St. John?s is looking to be either a three or a four seed in the upcoming state tournament.
Hamilton-Wenham 58, Marblehead 52 (OT)
The Magicians came close to pulling out a huge upset over undefeated Hamilton-Wenham in the Brad Sheridan Tournament Tuesday night. But they came up just short, losing in overtime. The loss drops Marblehead to 10-9 on the season.
Keegan Saunders led the Magicians in scoring with 15 points, adding six rebounds. Angel Perez had a great all-around night, finishing with eight points and 15 rebounds.
Bishop Fenwick 64, Northeast Regional 36
Fenwick didn?t have much trouble with Northeast at the Manchester-Essex Tournament Tuesday night, easily notching a 28-point win. Senior Matt Murphy led the Crusaders (3-15) with 18 points, while sophomore Ryan Veguilla added 14 points and five assists.
?We got off to a fast start tonight,” Fenwick coach John Preziosa said. “We?ve won two in a row now and it?s nice to get some momentum to end the year.”
Lynn Tech 57, Shawsheen Tech 46
The Tigers finished their season with a strong 11-point win over Shawsheen Tech Tuesday night. Arlin Reynoso was the leading scorer for Lynn Tech with 11 points, adding five assists. Justin Lewis scored nine points and pulled down an impressive 16 rebounds in the win, while Michael Anaya added seven points.
The Tigers finished the season with a 2-18 record, but there?s plenty to build on for next year.
?We were the youngest team in the conference this year,” Tigers? coach Dave Leary said. “We have a lot to look forward to for next year.”
Gloucester 51, Lynn Classical 42The Rams dropped to 11-11 this season with their loss on the road in Gloucester (11-9) Tuesday night. “It was a team loss,” Classical coach Tom Grassa said. “We just didn?t get it done tonight.”
