SAUGUS – The Saugus Cable Television Station board of directors voted 3-0 Monday to allow candidates in the March 17 recall election to record a three-minute campaign statement by the end of this week.Candidates must call SCTS at 781-231-2883 by Wednesday at 5 p.m. to schedule their three-minute videos. All recordings will take place by Saturday.Originally scheduled to end in executive session, the board stayed in open session so people could hear what board members had to say.Executive director Bryan Nadeau contacted the nine candidates after the meeting adjourned.?If they?ve already recorded, they can either re-record or keep the existing video,” Nadeau said. “All of the selectmen recorded, and recall candidate Jennifer D?Eon came in last time. We have reporters here, and I?ll post on Facebook as well as contact each one of them. I?ll keep a log of their responses.”Nadeau said candidates can come in anytime – as long as they schedule by Wednesday – so that the video airs two weeks before the election. Videos are expected to air March 2 and 3.Jeff Cicolini, Mark Mitchell and Scott Brazis are the recall candidates who still have to record. School Committee member Arthur Grabowski declined to record a message.?It could be three, or all nine could come in,” Nadeau said. “You never know. We schedule them at varying times, but at least once a day, and sometimes twice a day. It will take me a couple of hours to edit, and then I?ll put them up in alphabetical order by last name.”SCTS board member Joseph Cassia said he hopes the motion allowing for re-recording will serve the community well.?We hope to turn the corner tonight, and despite eight months of legal wrangling with court issues, we will work with these things in a more positive fashion,” Cassia said.Board member Ed Wawrzynowicz said they have had time to calm down from the initial attacks.?We?re going to treat everyone like we wish to be treated,” Wawrzynowicz said. “It?s also my constitutional right to support whichever candidate that I choose to support.”Cassia said SCTS? efforts to run the station have nothing to do with the politics of the town.?Our postings for SCTS board members has been and will be open to everyone in Saugus,” Cassia said. “That being said, we are forced to respond to the myriad of charges that have kept us from doing station business.”
