Lynn Police looking for suspect after shooting near headquarters

LYNN – Police are searching for a suspect after a shooting Wednesday evening near police headquarters left a man wounded.Police responded at approximately 7:20 p.m. to Essex Street in front of the courthouse, where a 21-year-old male city resident reported he had been shot. He was transported to Massachusetts General Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, according to Lynn Police Lt. Lucas Dean.Several police cruisers were at the intersection and cruisers had stopped at the City Hall parking lot off North Common Street.A dark gray Dodge coupe appeared abandoned in the parking lot, its lights still on, as officers set up crime tape around the scene. Dean said he could not comment on the car. He said Wednesday night that no arrests had been made and the incident remained under investigation.
