Bowl a strike to help special-needs kidsMount Carmel Masonic Lodge in Lynn holds its 2nd annual Bowl-a-Rama on April 18 at 1 p.m. at Lucky Strike Lanes on Buffum Street to benefit children with special needs.Last year’s benefit raised $1,000 and attracted 60 people, and co-organizer Joshua Goodwin expects more than 80 participants to get out their bowling bags this year.Co-organizer Ray King said money raised during the event helps support the Damascus Masonic Angel Fund, a benefit campaign helping children who have special needs “not covered by the traditional social service network.”King said expenses as basic as eyeglasses and as expensive as a stint at a therapeutic camp are covered by the fund.Goodwin hopes city elected officials attend this year’s Bowl-a-Rama. Old Tyme Italian Cuisine on Boston Street will provide food for the event, and there will be a silent sports auction. The ticket purchase deadline is April 4.
