Formerly Saugusbank, North Shore Bank, with three Saugus branches that provide full-service banking to the Saugus community, has repeatedly stepped up to help many fundraising efforts in town.Their donations are numerous and include supporting Special Olympics Day for nine years and being a sponsor of the TargetCancer Foundation events for two years. They are also a sponsor of World Series Park every season. North Shore Bank has an additional seven branch offices located in Beverly, Danvers, Middleton, Peabody and Salem. The construction of the field was started Dec. 22 and is being supervised by World Series Park. As much as possible was done before the winter set in, the urgency in getting it started was to have the field ready for play for the 2015 softball season. This will be the home field for Saugus Softball Little League, that involves hundreds of Saugus girls from 4 to 16 years of age. This new field will provide more opportunity for the playing of softball in Saugus and will help to grow Saugus Softball. Some of the financing has already been pledged, but more is needed.Individuals, businesses and organizations who would like to donate to this worthwhile project are asked to make checks payable to Saugus Softball Little League and send to Saugus Softball, P.O. Box 903, Saugus, MA. They will be acknowledged at the spring dedication of the field.Hooray again for Sgt. Mjr.
