Saugus recall bid succeeds

The bid to recall four of Saugus’ five selectmen has succeeded.With the results now official, Stephen Castinetti, Maureen Dever, Paul Allan and chair Ellen Faiella were swept from office tonight.”We got crushed. All four of us,” said Castinetti.The four selectmen were subject to the recall petition after voting to oust Scott Crabtree as the town manager last October. Debra Panetta, who voted in favor of Crabtree, was not subject to recall.The winners are Mark Mitchell, Jeffrey Cicolini, Jennifer D’Eon and Scott Brazis.See Wednesday’s Daily Item for complete details.
