SAUGUS – The Lemoine-Mitchell Performing Arts Council, the Theatre Company of Saugus and a collection of Saugus High School alumni will hold a fundraising event – the Rock & ROFL, a night of music and comedy – at Kowloon Restaurant in Saugus tonight.Comedians and musicians, all from Saugus, are scheduled to perform throughout the night. Alumni comedians include Val Kappa, Elvis Collins and Britt Mitchell. Alumni musicians include October Road and Ponyfish.The night honors the lives and careers of two longtime Saugus High School performing arts educators, Nancy M. Lemoine and Jerome J. Mitchell. Both educators taught fine arts in Saugus Public Schools for decades and left behind a legacy of talented performers. Funds raised from the Rock & ROFL will support the installation of a memorial plaque for the newly named Lemoine-Mitchell Performing Arts Center at Saugus High School.Tickets for the event are $35 ($30 each for four or more), and they include a Chinese food buffet.
