Champions crowned in Lynn Elementary Tournament

Six champions were crowned on Saturday in the finals of the Lynn elementary school basketball tournament at Pickering Middle School.
The Division 1 girls? final between Connery and Sisson was a defensive battle, as Sisson took an 8-3 victory, led by Kylee Mills and Madison Spencer. Connery?s high scorer was Angela Ixlaj.
In the Division 1 boys? final between Sisson and Harrington, Sisson had an 8-point (16-8) halftime lead but it didn?t last as the Hornets fought back in the second half to tie the game at 29 and force overtime. In the final moments of the second overtime Ali Barry?s shot rolled around the rim before falling in to give Harrington a 35-33 victory.
Barry finished the game with a tournament-high 26 points while Jesse Maggs had 22 points for the Eagles.
In the Division 2 girls? final, Tracy opened up a 7-4 halftime lead and pulled away to beat Callahan, 15-8. Nasla Pujols had 6 points and Yazmin Hernandez had 4 to lead Tracy. Melany Nieves had 6 for Callahan.
The boys? final was a showcase for Tracy?s dynamic duo of Lionel Rivera and Wally Florencio, who combined for 32 of their teams 34 points en route to a 10-point win over Washington. Willie Miller had 12 for Washington.
The Division 3 girls? championship was all Sewell-Anderson. Nakayala Espinal had 12 points and Mia Kebreau added 6 as the defending champs made it back-to-back titles with a 28-10 win over Lincoln-Thomson. Sydney Thompson was the high scorer for L-T with 6.
The Division 3 boys? final was a tale of two halves but Sewell-Anderson was able to hang on down the stretch against Lynn Woods to complete a Division 3 sweep with a 35-33 victory.
David Brown had 18 points to lead Sewell-Anderson, which also got 10 points from Kyle Durant. Jack Anderson led all scorers with 25 for Lynn Woods.
East Lynn and West Lynn All-Stars will compete on Saturday at Pickering beginning at 11 a.m.
The girls will participate in free throw and around-the-world contests before their all-star game at 11. The boys will follow at 1:30, preceded by free throw and 3-point contests.
The East Lynn girls? all-stars wereArianna Garcia (Aborn), Madison Atton and Reese Brinkler (Sisson), Joseiris Chiari (Hood), Lilliana Cole (Harrington), Molly Mannion and Kenzie McLaren (Lynn Woods), Gianna Nikolakakis and Maria Orfanos (Shoemaker), Elizabeth Ross and Anaudia Whelton (Ingalls) and Lindsy Weiner (Brickett).
The West Lynn girls? all-stars are Cassie Clinton and Sydney McCarthy (Lincoln-Thomson), Nakayla Espinal and Kyleigh Ramirez (Sewell-Anderson), Yazmin Hernandez and Nasla Pujols (Tracy), Nalisaia Mazariegos, Jaykla Rucker and Nia Sams (Callahan), Miyou Ricot (Cobbet) and Kiana Kwenda (Connery),Kylia Reynoso (Drewicz).

The East Lynn boys? all-stars are Warren Acceus and Martins Ngandjui (Brickett), Jack Anderson (Lynn Woods), Ali Barry and Alex Sylla (Harrington), Ray Contreras and Cristian Macario (Ingalls), Jesse Maggs and James Guy (Sisson), Briant Martinez (Hood) and Joshua St. Jean (Ford),Ryan Fraher (Shoemaker).
The West Lynn boys? all-stars are Antonio Bothelo and Wesley Chandler IV (Lincoln-Thomson), David Brown, Kyle Durant and Jadden Gonzalez (Sewell-Anderson), Emil Bruno and Willie Miller (Washington), Matthew Carillo (Drewicz), Wally Florencio and Lionel Rivera (Tracy), Mansour Ndiaye (Callahan) and Jeter Sanchez (Cobbet).
