MARBLEHEAD – Police are reminding residents to lock their cars and report any suspicious activity after several break-ins of vehicles Wednesday night.”With the warmer weather, melting snow and the return to outdoor activities, another seasonal pastime is upon us again – thieves stealing our property!” Marblehead police wrote in a Facebook message.Police said that residents reported thefts and damage to motor vehicles on Reed Street, Cherry Street, Sevinor Road and Peach Highlands on Wednesday night. Police said a variety of personal property was taken in the incidents.Police asked that any residents who may have heard or seen something out of the ordinary during the night feel free to call officers. Citizen tips helped police arrest several individuals last year and thus reduce the number of break-ins.”It is just that kind of police/community partnership that keeps our town the way we like it. We are calling on all residents to continue working with us again this year to combat this problem,” police said. “No tip is too small.”Police also advised residents to deter theft by keeping valuables out of sight in unoccupied cars.
