LYNN – A Salem man was held without bail Tuesday after a woman told police the man repeatedly abused and raped her, even forcing her to wear a dog collar and leash during an alleged sexual assault.Oliver Taylor, 25, of 233 Lafayette St. #17, Salem, pleaded not guilty in Lynn District Court Tuesday to charges of violating an abuse prevention order; aggravated assault and battery; aggravated rape causing severe bodily injury; and kidnapping.Police reported responding Saturday to a Kingsley Terrace address after a woman said her friend had posted a message on Facebook that she was badly beaten by Taylor the previous night.Police learned the alleged victim had a restraining order against the defendant and arrested him at the scene, according to court documents. The alleged victim said Taylor began raping her in October 2013 and insists he “owns” her. Taylor would also allegedly cover the woman’s face and try to smother her while sexually assaulting her. According to a series of reports by Lynn Police, the alleged victim said Taylor continued to rape and abuse her during two pregnancies, wouldn’t let her leave the apartment, and said that if she called police, he would make officers shoot him.The alleged victim told police she had been the victim in a previous domestic violence case involving Taylor but did not testify against him so the charges were dismissed in November 2014. He returned home and continued the abuse, the alleged victim said.On the previous night, Taylor put their dog’s collar around the alleged victim’s neck and began treating her like an animal while forcing her to perform sexual acts, police said the alleged victim reported.Police noted red marks on the alleged victim’s neck and scars from fingernail marks on her face.Essex Assistant District Attorney Erin Bellavia requested that Taylor be held without bail pending a dangerousness hearing.Judge Albert Conlon ordered Taylor held without bail pending a hearing scheduled for April 7.
