MARBLEHEAD – A neighborhood dispute over a barking dog resulted in a police call to the Ferry Lane condominiums Wednesday afternoon and the confiscation of the gun of one of the men involved.Police said that during the dispute, with lasted approximately an hour, both neighbors threatened each other.The dispute drew multiple cruisers to the scene, said to Patrol Officer Jason J. McDonald, who was the first to be dispatched to the location.It began when a man asked the dog owner to stop his pet from barking. But, according to the dog owner, the other man threatened to hit him.?The dog owner said he felt threatened and put his right hand behind his back as if he had a gun on him,” McDonald said. “He heard the neighbor yelling into his condo through his door screen to shut the dog up. The dog owner said he told the neighbor that he was going to punch him in the nose if he didn?t leave. The dog owner claims the neighbor reached behind his back and said, ?If you take one more step, I?ll shoot you.?”Officer Adam Mastrangelo searched the dog owner for weapons, but was he told he didn?t have any on him. However, Lt. Jonathan Lunt found a gun elsewhere on the property and confiscated it.The other man had a recording device, and told police he was using it to record the barking dog, police said.Chief Robert O. Picariello said the incident is currently under investigation.?We are frankly still looking into it,” Picariello said. “The gun aspect is what we are still looking into.”
