It took nine innings to decide, but in the end Bishop Fenwick (6-3) fell to Arlington Catholic, 7-4.
Fenwick got off to a fast start, scoring three times in the bottom of the first. Jenny Nasser singled, Mikayla Porcaro smacked a double, an error scored Nasser and Lucianna Mastromatteo doubled in Porcaro. Natalie Medros also had a run-scoring single in the inning.
Arlington Catholic knotted the score at three in the third with a couple of big hits, and grabbed the lead the lead in the fifth.
Porcaro (3-for-5) continued her big day at the plate with a solo home run in the bottom of the fifth.
Though the teams stayed tied, 4-4, for the next three innings, Arlington Catholic broke it open and nabbed the victory with a three-run top of the ninth.
Medros went the first 4 ? innings for Fenwick, while Lauren Hallice was tagged with the loss in relief.

It was a slugfest in Methuen as the Lynn Tech Tigers (0-4) fell to PMA. Tech?s Meagan LeBlanc had a stellar day, going 4-for-5 and scoring four runs. She also turned an unassisted double play in the field, snagging a line drive at shortstop and tagging second base.
Mehrin Hueston was also big with the bat for the Tigers, going 4-for-5 with three runs scored and a pair of RBIs.
Pitcher Brianna Reynoso filled in admirably as the Tigers? number one starter was ill.
?She really stepped up unexpectedly,” coach Beth Mercaldi said. “She held her own, had a couple of strikeouts, and didn?t allow many walks.”BASEBALL

Nick Colucci turned in what Pioneers? coach John O?Brien called a “terrific performance,” tossing a complete game and allowing three earned runs on six hits while fanning six to earn the win.
Colucci was also hot at the plate, going 3-for-4 with four runs driven in, scoring three runs. Shortstop Justin Guiliano had a single and a double with three RBIs, first baseman Spencer Balian knocked two doubles and drove in a pair, and leadoff man Nick Theopolis had a couple of singles and two RBIs.
?It was a solid team win,” said O?Brien. “We played very well and were great on defense.”

The Saugus girls looked strong on Thursday, winning handily at the Country Club in Brookline. Saugus?s winners included Danielle Stangie, Julia Daley, Sophia Cogliano, Emma Caron and Lexi Lembo.

Carlyn McGrath was a huge winner for the Magicians (4-0), taking first in the high jump at 4 feet 8 inches, the long jump (14-8), the 400-meter hurdles in 1 minutes 14.6 seconds and the 100-meter hurdles in 15.7 seconds. Sarah Oliver placed first in the mile for Marblehead, in 5 minutes 36 seconds. Gabriella Mark took the 100 meters (13.1) and Sarah Caulfield took first in the triple jump (29-11).
It was an up-and-down day for the Revere girls, as they won one and lost one in the tri-meet. Twin sisters Angelisa and Angelina Ngyuen placed second and third, repsectively, in the 100-meter dash, with just three-tenths of a second separating their times. Duyen Ngyuen came in second in the 200 (30.4), and Catherine Elam had second-place finishes in the 400 (1:09.7) and the triple jump (29-3). Rachel Shanbar was a first-place finisher for Revere, winning the discus with a distance of 82 feet. Helen Perez was third in the 400 hurdles. Hannah Fitzpatrick took second in the 2-mile race with (13:34), and Ariana Licata placed third in the discus (73-7).
