Boys’ Tennis Roundup: St. Mary’s holds off Latin Academy

St. Mary?s (12-1) won a hard-fought match at Latin Academy Wednesday, 3-2, behind two singles wins and one doubles victory.
Brady Ryan took the first singles match, 6-0, 6-0. Matt McManus was tested early in the second singles match, but prevailed, 7-5, 6-1.
In doubles play, Noah Camelo and Conor Foley sealed the deal, 6-1, 6-2.
?It was a nail-biter, to say the least,” said Spartans? coach Brian Carlson. “Both teams played really well, but this one was closer than I would?ve liked.”
Swampscott 4, Peabody 1
Swampscott (5-3) notched a win at Peabody as Matt Jacobs and Ian Crimmins each won their singles matches for the Big Blue, 6-0, 6-0.
The doubles pairing of Tyler Gateman and Ben Ringler also won their match, 6-0, 6-0. Erick Eaton and John Rizk breezed through their first set, but were challenged in the second, eventually pulling out a 6-0, 7-6 win.
Marblehead 5, Salem 0
Marblehead (8-4) grabbed a win on the Salem State University courts. Dimitri Vlassov fought hard to take the first singles match, 7-5, 2-6, 6-4. Michael Forte won second singles, 6-0, 6-2, and Felix Livtak took third singles, 6-1, 6-2.
In doubles, Justin Faia/Garrett Tully and Jake Driscoll/Sam Orenstein won their matches, 6-0, 6-1.Ipswich 4, Lynnfield 1
The doubles pairing of Ethan Forrest and Danny Bronshvayg won the only match for Lynnfield (0-9), 4-6, 6-1, 6-3.
Danvers 4, Lynn Classical 1
Lynn Classical (5-8) managed one win in doubles play from the duo of Patrick Gibb and David Hincapie, 6-2, 6-3.
Matignon 4, Bishop Fenwick 1
