REVERE – Cornelius N. Jackson, 25, who was arrested as part of Sunday night?s melee at Revere Beach that involved up to 300 people, has been released on personal recognizance after being arraigned in Chelsea District Court.Eight other juveniles from around the Greater Boston area, including one from Saugus, were also arrested during the fracas on Revere Beach Boulevard.Jackson, of 1 Fernald Terrace, Apt. 1, was charged with trespassing; resisting arrest; furnishing a false name and/or social security number as an arrestee; and disorderly conduct, four counts. While being arrested, he allegedly attempted to kick out the windows of the Massachusetts State Police cruiser, according to police reports. He pleaded not guilty.Jackson is ordered to stay away from Revere Beach and has a 6 p.m. to 8 a.m. curfew.The brawl took place shortly after 6 p.m. Sunday, near the bandstand, when two girls began fighting and their boyfriends joined in, and then their friends. The fracas grew from there.Jackson is scheduled to return to court July 15 for a pretrial hearing with defense attorney Rayleen Wentz.Bottles and rocks were hurled, some at police, during the altercation, but State Police Lt. Kevin Bibeau reported no injuries were reported.
