Girls’ Lacrosse Roundup: Flaherty leads St. Mary’s over Spellman

Maggie Flaherty?s four goals led the St. Mary?s attack in an 11-8 win over Cardinal Spellman in Brockton on Wednesday. Paige Fielding scored three times, Sarah Ryan had two goals, and Ellie Martin and Liz Weisse each netted one in the Spartans? (8-10) win.
Goalie Brittany McPherson played well in the net, making eight saves.
?It was much closer the whole way than we hoped for,” said Spartans? coach Al Eaton. “We hung tough until the very end and maintained possession.”
Peabody 13, Swampscott 4
Sarah Napolitano?s four goals and two assists led the Tanners. Adriana Raneri (three goals, one assist), Amanda Bradley (two goals), Lauren Wolff, Sarah Godschall, Sydney Cooke and Chloe Gizzi (one goal each) also contributed for Peabody.
Alyssa Shashaty, Mia Lomasney and Michela Jacks were solid on defense for the Tanners, and coach Dennis Desroches praised Dayna Vadala?s “overall strong performance” as well. Goalie Gianna Denisco made nine saves in the net for Peabody.
Ellie Wright (two goals), Maggie DiGrande and Priscilla Sullivan (one each) scored for Swampscott (7-9).
Bishop Fenwick 18, Archbishop Williams 6
Merry Harrington?s nine goals led the the Crusaders (10-5), scoring nine times. Harrington now has 92 goals and 17 assists this season. Colleen Corcoran and Molly Camelo both had two goals and four assists. Meghan Carney didn?t see too much action in the net, but made four saves for Fenwick.
?Our season started out a little up and down,” said Fenwick coach Karen Guillemette. “Considering our youth, we?ve really come together in the second half of the year.”
Lynnfield 11, Gloucester 2
