The Lynn Classical Rams (9-5) rode pitcher Ivy Martin to a 4-2 win at Malden Saturday.
Martin pitched a complete game, giving up two runs on just six hits and striking out five batters.
Ally Dunnigan paced the Rams on offense, going 2-for-4 with two RBIs and two runs scored.
Shannon Magner went 2-for-3 with an RBI, while Emma DeJoie went 2-for-4 with a run scored.
?It was a good win for us,” said Rams? coach Erica Richard. “Ivy pitched great all day.”
Game 1: Winthrop 4, Gloucester 3 (8)
Game 2: Winthrop 8, Gloucester 4
The Vikings got back to .500 (8-8) after sweeping a doubleheader against Gloucester, including a win in extra innings in the opening game.
Taylor Thomas pitched both wins for Winthrop. She got the first win in relief, going two innings and giving up a run on three hits before the Vikings won it in extras. Gabby Kenniston was the star on offense in the first game, going 3-for-5 with a home run, two RBIs, and two runs scored.
Thomas got the start in the second game, going six innings of three-hit ball to get the win. Kenniston went 3-for-4 at the plate with two runs scored.
Marblehead 5, Nantucket 1
Marblehead (13-2, 7-0 Northeastern Small) grabbed a non-league win over Nantucket behind another solid outing from Madi Ernst. She went the distance, giving up just one unearned run on four hits while striking out 10.
Montana Joyce went 2-for-3 with an RBI to help pace the Magicians on offense. Mckenzie Joyce went 1-for-3 with a stolen base, while Allison Kappol went 1-for-3 with a triple.
