SAUGUS – State Police are seeking information about a possible second car that may have been involved in the Route 1 accident two weeks ago in which John R. Thebeau Jr., 62, of Wilmington, died.Police are looking for a silver Jeep Grand Cherokee SUV that was on Route 1 southbound in Saugus at the time of the crash, which occurred shortly after 2 p.m. May 13, between the Walnut Street and Lynn Fells Parkway exits, said Dave Procopio, director of media communications for the State Police.Anyone who recalls seeing it, or who has any information about the car or its driver, can call the State Police at 978-745-8908 or 978-538-6161, he said.Police previously had sought the public?s help in locating an older-model silver or gray Honda CR-V SUV with a spare tire compartment attached to the rear hatch door that may also have been at or near the scene of the accident. The request for information on this vehicle also remains in effect, he said.Thebeau was pronounced dead at the scene, and there were no other injuries reported, police said.Procopio said the accident happened after a commercial vehicle traveling southbound in the right lane swerved to the left, hitting a dump truck driven by Thebeau, who was in the middle lane. Thebeau?s truck spun out of control and overturned on its passenger side, hitting a steel ribbon guardrail before coming to a stop on its wheels, perpendicular across the highway.
