Awaiting a potential bid in the Super 8 tournament, Peabody had nine players named 2015 Northeastern Conference baseball all-stars by a vote of the league?s 12 coaches on Friday.
Four Tanners were chosen for the all-conference team: Ryan Collins (shortstop), Matt Correale (outfield), Matt Gonick (outfield), and David Hoar (utility).
Peabody?s league all-stars include fellow seniors Joe Maguire (pitcher), Tanner Moquin (outfield), Christian Morales (second base), Mike Petrosino (first base), and Bobby Tramondozzi (utility).
Lynn English was well represented with three all-conference selections in Anthony De la Cruz (second base), Lucas Harris (pitcher), and Kyle O?Connor (outfield). The trio, along with league all-star and fellow senior Jeam Castillo (pitcher/first base), helped the Bulldogs to a 14-6 record (12-4 in the NEC), earning Joe Caponigro Coach of the Year honors.
Danvers? Andrew Olszak was named Most Valuable Player, thanks, in part, to his 8-0 mark on the mound, leading the Falcons to the NEC/Small championship (13-3, 17-3 overall).
Lynn Classical senior second baseman Damien Earp was named to the all-conference team while junior Brandon Devin (designated hitter) received all-star honors along with sophomores Herbie Newton (pitcher) and Tyler Way (outfield).
Rounding out the All-Conference team are senior pitcher David Drinkwater (Beverly); junior first baseman Spencer Carr (Marblehead); senior catcher Ryan January and sophomore pitcher Gavin Sullivan (Swampscott).
Other league all-stars include junior outfielder Sean Hanlon, senior pitcher/infielder Anthony Morrisey, senior pitcher/infielder Ted Leathersich (Beverly); senior designated hitter Ryan Buchanan, senior pitcher Andrew Dunn, junior outfielder Danny Lynch, junior third baseman Tim Unczur, sophomore catcher Matt Andreas (Danvers); senior second baseman Lukas McRobb (Gloucester); sophomore outfielder Drew Bisegna, senior pitcher Teddy Camp, junior pitcher Garrett Keough (Marblehead); senior infielder Jake DeAngelo, sophomore outfielder John DeSimone (Revere); junior shortstop Sammy Ramirez, senior outfielder Timothy Ryan (Salem), junior pitcher/outfielder Kyle Autillo, senior third baseman Dan Cacciola (Saugus); junior pitcher Corey Bleau, junior shortstop Adrian Espinal (Swampscott); senior shortstop Dylan Driscoll and senior pitcher/outfielder David Kirby (Winthrop).Revere, under coach Sean Brinkley, earned the annual Sportsmanship Award.
