American Legion to mark Flag DayOn Saturday, June 13 at 10 a.m., the Shoemaker Post #345, American Legion, will conduct its annual flag burning ceremony in honor of Flag Day that Sunday at the open field adjacent to the Korean and Vietnam sections of Pine Grove Cemetery, Lynn.Area citizens may bring flags to the ceremony or drop them off this week at any Lynn fire station or Solimine Funeral Home, 426 Broadway, Lynn.The flags will be surrendered in accordance with the ritual established by the American Legion in 1937.The Lynn English High School JROTC U.S. Marine Corps cadets will assist in the ceremony, as well as members of the Boy Scouts.
