The Gannon Ladies Inner Club kicked off its first major tournament of 2015 at the Gannon Golf Course in Lynn over the weekend. The club held a two-day qualifier for its four-ball tournament on Saturday and Sunday. The team of Jane Fiste and Linda Courtemanche secured the first seed for the final weekend with a net score of -13. Grabbing the second seed was the team of Tara Friedman and Eloise Deveney, with a net score of -11.
The third-place and fourth-place seedings were decided with a match of cards. Ann Dawson and Sue Don, who took the third seeding, went into the second day with an even score, and a made a sizable comeback and finished with a -9. Patty Roderick and Linda Corbett, the fourth-seeded team, also finished at -9.
Play will resume at Gannon on June 13 and 14 for the final rounds.
In other news from Gannon, winning the cup for the Spring Teams with a total of 265.5 point was the Gannon Ladies Team B, comprised of Chris Lynch, Linda Courtemanche, Patty Roderick, Lorraine Mills and Pauline Bellomo. The team played at the Kernwood Country Club in Salem and defeated the team from Stoneham?s Bear Hill Country Club.
