Lynn Woods summer cross-country races continue

The Lynn Woods summer cross country races are in full effect, with a total 278 runners completing the races on Wednesday. There were two guest trail masters this week, Jeff Hixon and Andrew Kernytsky.
The kids’ race, at 1.59 miles, was won by 9 year old Liam Powell of Swampscott with a time of 12 minutes, 13 seconds. Jared Prevost, 9, of Beverly, was second (15:00), followed by Mae Genovese, 13, of Marblehead (15:47), Alberto Gerardo, 9, of Lynn (16:26), and Michael Kelly, 14, of Lynn (16:30). Maggie Davidson (10,Lynnfield, 18:24), Abigail Morris (14, Lynn, 19:25), Lydia Calderan (13, Lynn, 19:29), Christopher Kelley (11, Lynn, 19:44), Caitlin Kelley (8, Lynn, 20:10), Cody Phothisane (8, Lynn, 20:32), Dylan Costa-Wilson (7, Lynn, 21:56), Calo Costa-Wilson (9, Lynn, 21:57), and James Dao (11, Lynn, 24:35) completed the kids’ field.
In the shorter race, on the 2.5-mile, Stone Tower-Steel Tower traill, Lynn’s James Cabral, 17, won the men’s division with a time of 17:10. Cameron Marr, 17, of Lynn finished in second place (17:13) and John Ayers, 49, of Beverly was third (18:15). Lynn’s Edgar Ortega (18:56) and Andy Choun (19:30) finished in fourth and fifth place, respectively.
In the women’s division, Lynn’s Tiana Foglietta, 18, was first with a time of 19:50.Erin Ford, 31, of Lynn, and 12-year-old Olivia Ford, of Essex, tied for second (22:35). Stephanie Lannon, 25, of Swampscott finished fourth (23:05), followed byLai-Sahn Hackett, 23, of Peabody (23:20).
In the longer race, the 6.5-mile tour of the woods, Matt Veiga, 28, of Lynn won the men’s division with a time of 42:45. Swampscott’s Nicholas Hartmann, 21, finished second (47:33) and Evan Covell, 20, of Saugus finished in third place (48:30). Lynn’s Christopher Stank, 36, finished fourth (48:34), Michael Smith, 33, of Beverly was fifth (48:36).
Deirdre Lowe, 36, of Salem, won the women’s division with a time of 52:59. Erin Hickey-Reardon, 35, of Reading, was second (56:09), followed by Katia Bertoldi, 37, of Somerville (57:44), Susan Collins, 47, of Rowley (1:00:30), and Laura Spathanas, 42, of Swampscott (1:01:33).
