MARBLEHEAD – Residents approved a trio of Proposition 2? debt-exclusion overrides Tuesday to raise $8 million that will move along both the transfer station and landfill capping projects.The questions arose from the recently completed Town Meeting. Voters passed the overrides 1,934 to 666 during Tuesday?s special election.Voters were asked to decide whether the town was exempt from Proposition 2? when it came to paying for the bonds to repair and/or replace the existing 60-inch concrete drainage culvert that crosses the landfill property.Unofficial results were posted on the town website shortly after 8:45 p.m. Tuesday.The election drew 2,600 voters to the polls with a total percentage turnout of 17.8 percent for six precincts.Precinct 1 had the highest percentage voter turnout with 23.6 percent and 595 votes, while Precinct 5 garnered the lowest number with 14.5 percent and 341 votes.The matter is left over from Articles 32, 33 and 34 (the trio) of the 2015 Annual Town Meeting.Town Clerk Robin A. Michaud said the Board of Health devised the warrant question.
