Because of the heavy rain forecast on Sunday, the Agganis All-Star baseball and softball games were postponed, as well as the Harry Agganis Awards Ceremony.
The games will be played on Wednesday at Fraser Field, with softball starting at 5 p.m. and baseball at 7 p.m. The awards ceremony will now take place before the 54th annual Agganis football game at 7 p.m. on Thursdayat Manning Field.
At the awards ceremony, the Agganis Foundation also will honor its 2015 class of scholarship recipients and induct five new members into its Hall of Fame.
The Classics are named for Harry Agganis, the legendary athlete who starred at Lynn Classical and Boston University. His career with the Boston Red Sox was cut short when he died of a pulmonary embolism at age 26 on June 27, 1955. The Foundation provides college scholarships to deserving student-athletes in his memory
All other All-Star games during Agganis week, including soccer, basketball, lacrosse, will take place as scheduled. The basketball games will take place Monday at Lynn Classical High School. The girls? game will begin at 6 p.m., followed by the boys? at 7:15 p.m.
The lacrosse games will be played at Manning Field on Tuesday. The girls? game will start at 5:30 p.m., and the boys? game will follow at 7 p.m.
The boys? and girls? soccer games will take place on Wednesdayat Manning Field. The girls will begin at 5:30 p.m. and the boys will follow at 7 p.m.
