LYNN – The Lynn Area Chamber of Commerce will host “How To Accelerate Your Business Growth and Access to Capital” Wednesday at its 583 Chestnut St. office from 7:30 to 9 a.m.The Initiative for a Competitive Inner City (ICIC) wants businesses to be nominated for a professional business development seminar on Sept. 24 in Boston.There is no charge to attend.The session is open to all businesses that are established in a Housing and Urban Development zone, such as Lynn.Former Massachusetts treasurer and current ICIC executive director Steve Grossman and his team will present the nomination process details.Businesses with $500,000 or more of sales in 2015 and are headquartered in or have at least 40 percent of employees reside within an economically distressed urban area are eligible.ICIC helps firms in the growth-to-exit stage overcome obstacles to reach their respective goals. Since the program’s inception in 2005, 834 businesses have participated, raised over $1.2 billion and created nearly 11,000 jobs, with 54 percent of these jobs held by inner city residents across America.For the first time, Boston will host an ICIC business summit planned for Sept. 24.Businesses attending must be nominated and accepted to participate in the summit.The program includes comprehensive executive education seminars, interactive webinars, individualized coaching, co?n?nections with capital providers and a conference for accepted participants of the program.Other executive education summits will be held in Philadelphia, Birmingham and Dallas.The culminating conference will be held in New York.It is necessary to RSVP.
