Threat of thunder postpones more Agganis games

Because of the thunderstorms forecast on Tuesday, the Agganis All-Star boys? and girls? lacrosse games were postponed. The Agganis schedule now includes the rare quadrupleheader on Wednesday and tripleheader on Thursday.
The lacrosse games will be played on Thursday at Manning Field, with the 4th Annual Girls? Lacrosse Classic starting at 12:30 p.m., followed by the 4th Annual Boys? Lacrosse Classic at 2 p.m.
The Agganis awards ceremony, which was supposed to take place Sunday morning but was postponed by inclement weather, will now take place during halftime of the 54th Annual Agganis All-Star Football Classic. Kickoff is at 7 p.m. on Thursdayat Manning Field.
At the awards ceremony, the Agganis Foundation will honor its 2015 class of scholarship recipients and induct five new members into its Hall of Fame.
The 20th Annual Agganis All-Star Boys? and Girls? Soccer Classics will take place as scheduled at Manning Field Wednesday. The girls? game will start at 5:30 p.m., followed by the boys? game at 7 p.m.
The 21st Annual Baseball All-Star Classic and the 18th Annual Softball All-Star Classic , which were delayed by rain on Sunday, will take place Wednesday at Fraser Field. The softball game will start at 5 p.m. and the baseball game will follow at 7 p.m.
The All-Star games are named for Harry Agganis, the legendary athlete who starred at Lynn Classical and Boston University. His career with the Boston Red Sox was cut short when he died of a pulmonary embolism on June 27, 1955, at the age of 26. The Foundation provides college scholarships to deserving student-athletes in his memory.
