Lynn Woods races run on

It was another busy week at the Lynn Woods weekly cross country series as 292 runners crossed the finish line.
The kids’ race, over a distance of 1.59 miles, was won by 12-year-old Liam Crichton, from Beverly, in a time of 11 minutes, 28 seconds. Ipswich’s Quinn Garry, 9, who was last week’s winner, took second in 11:28. Third place went to Brendan Crichton, 13, of Beverly in 12:03. Rounding out the top five were Finn Bonnet, 9, of Beverly (12:34) and Revo Velleco, 11, of Marblehead (13:49).
Behind them were Will Bochnak (7, Lynn, 14:01), Olivia Waterman (11, Lynn, 14:01), Cierra Johnson (9, Lynn, 15:16), Sabrina Armstrong (11, Lynn, 15:18), Mae Genovese (13, Marblehead, 15:37), Michael Kelley (14, Lynn, 16:25), Kaylin Deschenes (17, Lynn, 16:37), Michayia Lawrence (15, Lynn, 16:40), Stephanie Curran (12, Wakefield, 17:15), Isabelle Garry (7, Ipswich, 19:02), Kayden Flather (10, Ipswich, 19:02), Abigail Morris (14, Lynn, 19:19), Lydia Calderan (13, Lynn, 19:21), Alex Waterman (7, Lynn, 19:33), Christopher Kelley (11, Lynn, 20:40), James Dao (11, Lynn, 20:40), Caitlin Kelley (8, Lynn, 21:02), Giglians Veigs (9, Lynnfield, 22:03), Matthew Bloom (14, Lynn, 23:34), Cody Phothisane (8, Lynn, 23:55), Caroline Johnson (12, Marblehead, 24:20), Calo Costa-Wilson (9, Lynn, 25:02), Dylan Costa-Wilson (7, Lynn, 25:06), Matthew Fukuda (8, Swampscott, 27:49), Angela Obey (6, Peabody, 28:26), Gianna Veigs (6, Lynnfield, 28:35), Preston Matulewicz (6, Marblehead, 31:01), Tyler Fukuda (10, Swampscott, 31:05), Charlotte Crichton (8, Beverly, 31:55), Nora Bonner (7, Beverly, 31:55).
In the 2.4-mile out-and-back race, Wakefield’s Shawn Carlson, 16, won the men’s division in a time of 15:56. Second went to Lynn’s James Cabral, 17, in 16:11 with Edgar Ortega, 17, of Lynn taking third (16:39). Doug Wilson, 19, of Lynn placed fourth (17:14) with Tyson Miller, 22, of Marblehead in fifth (17:17).
The women’s division was won for a second week in a row by Tiana Foglietta, 18, of Lynn in 17:36. Peabody’s Brittani Atkinson, 22, placed second (19:11) with Lynn’s Courtney Ekstrom, 21, in third (20:16) followed by Swampscott’s Stephanie Lannon, 25, in fourth (20;30) and Claire Depew, 21, of Marblehead fifth (21:31).
In the 5.4-mile Tour de Lynn Woods course, Saugus’ Alex Derosa, 25, was the victor in 33:57. Lynn’s Jim Pawlicki, 40, was second (33:59) and Adam Cook, 16, of Melrose was third (36:18). Behind them was Salem’s Patrick Joy, 37, in fourth (36:30) and Jeff Hixon, 41, of Boxford was fifth (36:46).The women’s race was won by Lynn’s Paula Mackin, 52, in 35:11 which placed her third in the overall standings. Second in the women’s race was Deirdre Lowe, 36, of Salem (40:19) with Courtney Koschei, 29, of Saugus in third (45:38) followed by Rowley’s Susan Collins, 47, in fourth (46:33) and Julie Haynes, 56, of Swampscott in fifth (46:44).
