What’s open and closed

The Item will publish Saturday, and a Reader Services representative will be available by phone for any home-delivery issues both today and Saturday from 7-10 a.m. at 781-593-7700 ext. 2.Even though the stock markets will be closed today, banks will open. However, they will be closed all day Saturday.Grocery and retail stores will be open throughout the holiday weekend for their regular hours. Liquor-store hours will vary Saturday, depending upon the outlet, but all will be open for some period of time.The Lynn Chamber of Commerce offices will be closed today.If the meteorologist is wrong about the forecast and it’s too cold or stormy for that cookout, most restaurants, bistros and fast-food establishments are open throughout the weekend.Today, public transportation, such as, subways, buses, commuter trains and ferries, will operate on a regular schedule. However, Saturday buses and commuter trains will be on a Sunday schedule while the subways will be extended until 2 a.m. with free fares after 9 p.m. to accommodate Charles River Esplanade crowd.The post office will be open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. today, but will be closed all day Saturday.Those wishing to submit results from Saturday’s parks, playground and neighborhood activities should email them to The Item at [email protected]. Results should categorized by events. Photos can be attached with the results or simply emailed to the above address. All people in pictures must be identified, in the order they appear, from left to right, front to rear. Pictures submitted without proper identification will not be printed.
