Lynn youth track series kicks off

The Lynn Parks and Recreation Department kicked off its summer youth track series this week at Manning Field with kids ranging in age from 1-17 competing.
Edgar Ortega, 17, a cross country and track standout at Lynn Tech, took first place in the softball toss with a throw of 177 feet, 10 inches, in the 100-meter dash with a time of 13.2 seconds, in the 200 meters (28.1) and in the 400-meter race with a time of 1 minute, 12.1 seconds.
Kevin Kelsey, 12, of Beverly, was a double winner in the 50-meter dash (7.3) and standing long jump (6 ?).
