Lynn youth summer track series back in action

The Lynn Parks and Department’s summer youth track series was in full swing on Monday at Manning Field as boys and girls ranging from ages 2-15 participated.
In the girls’ 200-meter run, 15-year-old Michayla Lawrence from Lynn was the winner in a time of 27.7 seconds. Second in the girls division was Shayla Robertson, 15, of Peabody (30.0) followed by Cierra Johnson, 9, of Lynn (36.5), Olivia Martinez, 9, of Peabody (37.0) and Fatmaalzhra Girdia, 13, of Lynn (37.0).
The boys’ 200 was won by Justin Ashman, 12, of Saugus in 34.0 seconds. Nicholas Miller, 12, of Lynn placed second (35.8) with Gay Soe, 12, of Lynn in third (35.8) followed by Marco Bussone, 10, of Manchester (36.2) and Morgan Hendy, 6, of Marblehead (37.2).
The boys’ 100-meter dash was won by Nicholas Miller in 13.6 seconds. Second place went to Dillon Duval, 10, of Saugus (15.1) followed by Marco Bussone (15.4), Stevan Downey, 11, of Lynn (15.7) and Justin Ashman (16.2).
Riley Bishop, 7, of Lynn won the girls’ race in 13.6 seconds. Second place went to Shayla Robertson (15.2) with Olivia Martinez in third (16.8) followed by Cierra Johnson (17.4) and Trinity Algarin, 10, of Salem (17.4).
Marco Bussone won the boys’ mile run in 6 minutes, 40.1 seconds. Second place went to Justin Ashman (7:26.1) with Nicholas Miller third (7:50.6) ahead of Matthew Terrien, 9, of Lynn (7:50.6) and Davide Bussone, 7, of Manchester (7:54.6).
Cierra Johnson won the girls’ mile in 7:27.1, just ahead of second-place finisher Adyson Duval, 8, of Saugus (7:27.2). Kate Kelsey, 10, of Beverly placed third (7:40.9) followed by Emily Terrien, 12, of Lynn (8:14.6) and Nastya Mamida, 12, of Lynn (8:57.8).
Lynn’s Kaylei Johnson, 5, scored a first place in the girls’ 50-meter dash in 7.0 seconds. Trinity Algarin was in second (10.0) followed by Amy Pleitez, 10, of Lynn (8.4), Angelina Owumi, 4, of Lynn (8.6) and Brianna Tembe, 10, of Salem (8.7).
The boys’ 50 was won by Gay Soe in 8.2 seconds. Nicholas Miller was second (8.3) with Stevan Downey (8.3), Justin Ashman (8.4) and Liam Carmody, 7, of Lynn (8.7) following.
The girls’ 30-meter dash was won by Kaileigh Patterson, 3, of Nahant in 8.3 seconds. Second was Angelina Owumi (8.6) followed by Ella Njigua, 3, of Lynn (12.0), Brigid Walsh, 2, of Lynn (14.9) and Naomi Tarantino, 3, of Saugus (16.3).
Lynn’s Oscar Alvarez won the boys’ 30-meters in 9.2 seconds followed by Brandon Eth of Lynn (9.8) and Llyas Gibson, 2, of Hyde Park (15.2).
Michayla Lawrence placed first in the girls’ 400-meter run in a time of 1 minute, 24.0 seconds. Second was Cierra Johnson (1:30.1) followed by Adyson Duval (1:32.0), Olivia Martinez (1:37.5) and Nastya Mamida (1:38.1).
Marco Bussone won the boys’ 400 in 1:19.4 followed by Justin Ashman (1:24.8), Kevin Kelsey (1:25.4), Gay Soe (1:44.2) and Liam Carmody (1:44.8).
Michayle Lawrence also won the girls’ softball toss, her third win of the meet, with a distance of 89 feet, 4 inches. Jaleila Aupont, 9, of Salem was in second (75-6) followed by Brianna Tembe, 10, of Salem (63-5), Kate Kelsey (61-11) and Leilani Eth, 10, of Lynn (60-5).Kevin Kelsey won the boys’ softball throw at a distance of 122 feet, 11 inches. Justin Ashman was second (112-9) followed by Marco Bussone (92-2), Gay Soe (80-6) and Tobey Archibald, 12, of Beverly (58-10).
