July 20, 2015 by Mike Alongi

LYNN ? Overcoming a pair of one-run deficits, Quincy defeated Lynn, 4-3, on the Bowser Complex?s Clancy Field in the 14-year-old Babe Ruth Eastern Mass. semifinal on Monday.
Quincy will head back to its home turf ? Adams Field ? Tuesday at 5:30 p.m. to face Marblehead in the EMass championship game.
Quincy struck for a run in the top of the first on a single, stolen base and an error. Lynn took its first lead in the bottom of the third as Christian Burt drove home two runs on a single.
The lead didn?t last long as Quincy?s J.P. Kerrey tied the game with an RBI single in the top of the fourth. Lynn pushed back in front in the bottom of the fifth, loading the bases for Anthony Nikolakakis, who reached on an infield single for a 3-2 lead.
Once again, however, Quincy had a response as a fielder?s choice with runners on the corners tied the game before Connor McDonald singled to make it 4-3.
Lynn got the tying run on base in the bottom of the seventh but McDonald, who relieved starter Colin McGrath in the bottom of the fifth, recorded a strikeout to end the game.Burt went the distance for Lynn, striking out seven. McGrath and McDonald each had four strikeouts for Quincy.
