The Pleon Yacht Club?s Junior Race Week continued Tuesday in the second day of the three-day event, with well over 200 boats racing off the coastline of Marblehead.
In the 420 Champ class, Joseph Chomyn and Parker Swanson from the Harraseeket Yacht Club remained atop the standings with 26 points after turning in three top-10 finishes in their four races on Tuesday. Pleon?s Cecelia Moreira and Emma Montgomery, who won two of their four races, are in second place with 32 points. Rowan Byrne and Gillian Wynn of the Manchester Sailing Academy (36), Carly Siemen and Griffin Primeau of Harraseeket (37) and Nate Tedford and Anabelle Ayer of Pleon (39) complete the top five positions.
In the 420 Green class, the Hingham Yacht Club holds the top four positions and six of the top eight. Timothy Nerich and Collin Murphy of the Nahant Sailing Program are in sixth place with 62 points. Ben Monnich and Grace Taylor are in first place with 17 points thanks to five top-five finishes in as many races on Tuesday. Kaylee Hill and Sydney Langenhagen are in second with 27 points, followed by first day leaders Francis Cundari and Tyler Buckeridge (27), Michael Hill and Morgan Langenhagen (27) and Samantha Naples and Elise Wimberly of the Cohasset Yacht Club (58).
Pleon?s Mason Chaney had a perfect day in the Laser 4.7 class, winning all four races to remain in first place with eight points. Nils Skaane of Pleon (21) is second followed by Morgan Cheney (27), Hadley Kaeyer (28) and Edward Backman (29), all of Pleon.
In the Laser Radial competition, Sail Maine?s Caleb Robinson remained in first place with 15 points thanks to two wins, a second- and two fourth-place finishes on Tuesday. Pleon?s Reid Shanabrook is in second with 22 points followed by William Bedford of Pleon (23), Nicole Torrie of Pleon (35) and Gregory Corsello from Sail Maine (37).
In the Opti Champ race, Magdelaina Putnam of Pleon moved from third to first thanks to a pair of second-place finishes along with a third and a fourth on Tuesday for a total of 22 points through two days. Grace Gear of Agamenticus Yacht Club (26) is second followed by Hayden Van Alstyne of the Portland Yacht Club (26), Leopold Seuss of Pleon (51) and Eliza Dunn of the Hingham Yacht Club (76).
In the Opti Green even competition, Pleon holds the first two places as Ashley Hoguet leads with 12 points followed by Charlie Pingree, who also has 12 points. Third place is Reid Hamilton of the Eastern Yacht Club (13) followed by Theo Burtis from the Annisquam Yacht Club (17) and Brian Coleman of the Corinthian Yacht Club (25).
The Opti Green odd standings saw a flip flop of the top two positions as Manchester Sailing Academy?s Jack Wieman had a pair of wins to take the top spot with seven points, followed by first day leader Jamie Gabbay of the Annisquam Yacht Club with eight points. Behind them are Jack Homa (13), Andrew King of the Corinthian Yacht Club (26) and Luke Elmer of Pleon (35).
