Semifinal games pack plenty of offense in Parks and Rec basketball

The semifinal games of the West Lynn portion of the Lynn Parks and Recreation Department’s summer basketball league included plenty of exciting games at Breed Middle School on Tuesday.
In the grammar school semifinal, John J. Walsh’s team defeated Robert Irvine’s squad, 42-38, thanks to a game-high 21 points from Victor Mafo. Ly Rivera chipped in 11 for Walsh while Ali Barry had 18 points and Walle Florencio 11 for Irvine.
In the middle school semifinal, Lynn Housing Authority defeated Gannon, 47-38. Noah Thomas had 17 points and Jeff Hill added 14 for LHA while Julian Peralta had 17 for Gannon, which also got 10 from Rondell Brathwaite.
In the high school semi, Lynn Classical teammates Edwin Solis (20 points) and C.J. Lights (14) led DeIulis Brothers to a 76-73 win over Old Neighborhood. Another Ram, Peter Mafo, had a game-high 26 points for Old Neighborhood while Marcel Wilson added 19.
In the grammar school consolation round, Gannon defeated Councilor Rick Ford’s team, 26-20, thanks to 14 points from Alani Iraheta. In the middle school consolation, Meninno defeated Leahy, 55-51, behind 15 points from Mike Dee.In the high school consolation, EZ Landscaping bested Eastern Bank, 76-61. Josh Smith led the winners with 24 points.
