The Gannon Ladies Innerclub held its second annual Invitational Golf Tournament on Aug. 5 under the leadership of Gannon golf pro David Sibley, Jay Varriano, Joyce Agganis, and Gail Conlon. Ladies from all over the North and South shores came to play at Gannon, some for the first time.
Winners of the tournament for the second year in a row were Riki Allen from Sagamore and Janet Brown from Sandpiper, with a low gross score of 79.
Winning the low net with a score of 66 on a match of cards was Kathie Hatfield and Linda Peterson from Sagamore. Second low net with a 66 was Michelle Kane from Kernwood and Nancy McCarthy from Tedesco. Third low net with a 66 was Stephanie Jenis and Joanne St. Pierre from Presidents. Fourth low net with a 67 was Jane McDonald and Cidy Rodzen from Ould Newbury. Fifth low net with a 68 was Alice McElhinney from Sagamore and Jane Tryder from Mount Hood.
Gannon also hosted the Gannon Ladies Innerclub Member-Guest tournament on Saturday. Each member brings a nonmember guest to play in a best ball format to enjoy the course, have some fun, and good food provided by Diamond in the Rough at Gannon.
Winning the low gross was the foursome of member Ann Dawson, her guest Janet Moran, and member Mary Hunt and her guest Kym Pappathanasi, with a gross score of 151.
First place for lowest net score on a match of cards was member Patty Roberts, her guest Cathy Looney, and member Carol Longo and her guest Kathy Otterson with a low net score of 120. Second net was member Sue Don, her guest Kathy Hatfield, and member Dawn Baribeau and her guest Helene Scott, also with net score of 120. Third net went to member Alana Pederson, her guest Paula Reardon, and member Eloise Deveney and her guest Joanne St. Pierre, with a net score of 122.
