Heat is no match for Lynn Woods runners

The Lynn Woods races continued on Wednesday, with 282 runners crossing the finish line on Wednesday.
Rockport’s Julia Moceri, 13, breezed through the 1.59-mile kids’ course, capturing the top spot with a time of 11 minutes, 39 seconds. Kate Kelsey (10, Beverly, 13:58), Hannah Desilets (8, Lynn, 16:32) Stephanie Curran (12, Wakefield, 16:48) and Abigail Morris (14, Lynn, 17:53) rounded out the top five for the girls’ division. Simone Testa (15, Lynn, 20:40), Hailey Lewis (13, Lynn, 21:19), Abigail O’Connor (12, Lynn, 21:24) Sadie O’Connor (8, Lynn, 21:39) and Madison Desilets (7, Lynn, 23:20) finished in the top 10.
Lynn’s Ryan Amirault (8, 12:45), who grabbed second in the kids’ race last week, came out on top this time, followed by another top-five fixture, Will Bochnak (7, Lynn, 13:40). Lex Picillo (7, Salem, 14:47), Tom Curran (13, Wakefield, 14:58), Tyler Fukuda (10, Swampscott, 15:13), Zachary Moceri (14, Rockport, 15:15), Jay Fox (10, Swampscott, 16:30), Matthew Fukuda (8, Swampscott, 16:37), Tommy Fogarty (8, Peabody, 16:49) and Kevin Smart (9, Lynn, 17:57) completed the top 10 runners.
In the shorter race, Steel Tower via Goat Path course, Adam Cook (16, Melrose, 14:52) finished first in the men’s division, followed by Oliver Jacob (16, Marblehead, 15:45), Cody Murtaugh (16, Peabody, 15:57), Colin Harvey (17, Lynn, 16:19) and Michael Weidenbruch (17, Marblehead, 16:24).
Tiana Foglietta (18, Lynn, 17:29) placed first in the women’s division, with Brittani Atkinson (22, Peabody, 18:34), Sarah Bitterman (23, Marblehead, 18:47), Ciara Camire (27, Beverly, 18:56) and Katie Reinwald (12, Beverly, 21:41) close behind.
The longer race, the 4.5-mile Undercliff Trail course, was won by Matt Veiga (28, Lynn, 27:59), with Jim Pawlicki (40, Lynn, 28:09), Jason Barnes (52, Salem, 28:10), Nakri Dao (42, Lynn, 30:48) and Chris Smith (49, Woburn, 31:00) rounding out the top five.
Deirdre Lowe (36, Salem, 35:32) topped the women’s division, followed by Kristen Field (37, Salem, 38:59), Julie Haynes (56, Swampscott, 40:39), Whitney Brown (41, Malden,40:48) and and Lai-Sahn Hackett (23, Peabody, 42:02).The 47th Annual 10-mile relay will be run on Wednesday, starting at 6 p.m. Last year 100 teams participated in the relays.
