Boys’ Cross Country: Lynnfield hoping for youthful talent

The Lynnfield boys? cross-country team has no where to go but up.
?Last year: The Pioneers finished 1-9.
?Coach: Joe DiBiase returns for his 24th season.
?Key runners gone: Nick Pascucci graduated.
?Key runners this year:Senior captain Alex Dalelio and senior Connor Reardon.
?Strengths: The Pioneers get a really good turnout from freshman runners and athletes who play other sports in the winter and spring.
?Question marks: Besides inexperience, the Pioneers only have one home meet this fall and will have to practice on the road because of the town?s ongoing field project.
?Opening meet: At Pentucket Sept. 9.
?Big meets: Against rival North Reading, and the Cape Ann meet.
?Coach?s outlook: “We?d like to at least be .500, do well in the big meets, everyone to be healthy, and enjoy this season.”
