PEABODY — A 33-year-old man was arrested and charged Monday night after allegedly trying to carjack another resident, while holding a sword and throwing star, Peabody Police Det. Michael Crane said.
Brian C. Miville, 33, of 9 Carlton St., was arrested and charged with armed carjacking and assault with a dangerous weapon at 7:38 p.m. Monday.
The victim, also from Peabody, described as being middle aged, was sitting in his parked motor vehicle in front of the 7-11, at 100 Lynn St., Crane said.
“Miville, allegedly holding a sword and a throwing star, approached the vehicle and demanded the victim exit the car,” Crane said. “The victim complied and Miville entered the vehicle.”
“Miville attempted to operate the vehicle, but was having difficulty and the victim ordered Miville to get out,” Crane said.
Miville then exited the vehicle and the victim was able to alert the police, Crane said.
The sword and throwing star were confiscated as evidence, Crane said.
